I think this requires the teacher to really know the learner, in order to ask the right questions and know where they are situated within the content and context of the learning space. One could bring in the other feature we mentioned - dialogue. Interaction at a level of using the Socratic method to engage in a deeper dialogue.
Potentiality of a learner can be reached once a learner's mind is evoked. For that to happen one needs a much deeper pedagogy then just expanding knowledge to learners or achieving learner outcomes of the CAPS document. What is indeed needed is an unconditional form of care, love and friendship for the learners in order for them to first engage in dialogue and then later through this dialogue , reaching their potential.
In the classroom then, start with what JM has mentioned, get to know your learners before you teach them. As our philosophy lecturer always quote; You need to know who you teach, before you teach in order for you to teach,
Practically, employing methods such as the Socratic Method not only encourages Dialogos, but if facilitated lovingly and with care (Philia), also encourages imaginative/dynamic thinking in learners. It is the teacher's role to facilitate this.
